Find two health-related articles in the Walden Library about how health literacy affects consumer buying habits. For example, you could use an article that deals with marketing of prescription drugs and how that affects questions people ask their doctors. The articles selected should reflect on the following questions:

  • What do consumers use as a basis for making decisions regarding health-related products or pharmaceuticals?
  • What part does health literacy play in making these types of purchasing choices?
  • Are there variations in purchasing decisions with respect to demographics?

  • How do different demographics like socio-economic status and education influence health-related purchase decisions?
  • Provide an example of how marketing, the media, and your level of health literacy has impacted at least one choice you’ve made as a health consumer.
  • Offer two to three (2-3) examples of how health literacy of individuals and the nation may be improved.

Use evidence from your readings to support your rationale and provide in-text citations and a Reference List.
