I’m working on a research & summaries presentation and need a sample draft to help me learn. Further Overview on The Quantitative Research Presentation

  • A brief overview of the parts of a research article as a refresher to your peers in the journal club as stated in the Walden University “Anatomy of a Research Article” article.

This is the feedback I received for the attached powerpoints I submitted :I enjoyed your quantitative and qualitative power point presentations. There were a few areas that needed further development but the main missing component was the overview of the parts of a research article. Please see rubric for further feedback.

Dona Robert Qualitative Journal Presentation NR3002: Research methodology Purpose of the Study  It examines how parents with or without health training behave while looking for emergency services  To examine individual care among parents when their children have a fever (Villarejo‐Rodríguez & Rodríguez‐Martín, 2020).  It aims at illustrating response of parents with and without healthcare training  It explores the effect of healthcare training on the seeking the emergency services  It explains the childcare services among parents of different healthcare frameworks  It discusses the effect of parent training on the response to emergencies.  A qualitative research design based on Grounded Theory was used in this investigation of the social and psychological processes surrounding parents’ behaviour. Research Design & sample selection  a triangulated sample; theoretical sampling and snowball sampling acquired from parents was incorporated  The age groups entailed children between ages 0 to 12years old who received care for fever.  The parents for studied children must have attended fever consultations for one year between November 1, 2016, and October 31, 2017, at primary care emergency services (PCES) of Bargas and Buenavista health centers.  The parents should also consent to participate in the study. Parents with children suffering from asthma, pneumonia, or heart disease were included. Data collection methods & Analysis Focus groups (FGs) were conducted in a private setting comprising of a maximum of ten participants. Each session lasted approximately 50 minutes, where the discussions were recorded The data recorded was transcribed using F4 software Later, the participants are anonymized using letters. Transcripts are sent via email for participant confirmation. Villarejo‐Rodríguez & Rodríguez‐Martín (2020) claimed that the discourse content was coded using axial, open, and selective coding. Strengths & Weaknesses  Strengths is the study adhered to the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) to ensure its validity.  This was made possible since the study incorporated data triangulation.  It required participants to review and approve their FG transcripts.  The participants were also unknown to each other, meaning that bias was curbed since they could freely express their opinions and experiences without fear.  Weaknesses entailed; bias since some of the participants fail to remember past events since more time had elapsed between the period they seek fever consultation and when the FGs were conducted. The study wanted to compare these relationships between PLWH and HIV-uninfected adults used as a control group ((Webel et al, 2018). Further Overview on The Quantitative Research Presentation
The research design comprised of a cross-sectional quantitative descriptive design was used. Drawing from Webel et al. (2018) The study wanted to unravel the effect of physical exercise and cardiovascular outcomes in PLWH and compare the results with that of the uninfected control group. SAMPLE SELECTION & DATA COLLECTION METHODS In the sample selection, 109 PLWH and 20 well-matched control participants were selected. A research assistant screened participants via a telephone call. HIV-uninfected participants were matched to PLWH using gender, age, and race. All participants were to be older than 18 years and at high risk of developing CVD. samples prescribed statin medications were to be using it for at least 6 months. Also, PLWH were to be on ART with suppressed HIV-1viremia for one year. In the data collection methods, a computer demographic survey was used where all participants filled the self-reported survey. The aim of this was to determine their gender, education, race, and monthly income. DATA COLLECTION MEASURES, TOOLS & ANALYSIS Participants were issued ActiGraph accelerometer to monitor their rest and activity cycle (Webel et al., 2018). The results obtained were used to determine their body mass index (BMI). ActiLife software was utilized to calculate the number of time participants spent doing light, moderate and vigorous exercises. A Stadiometer was used to measure the height and the weight of participants. Participants underwent a cardiopulmonary exercise test to determine their cardiovascular health. Serum laboratory studies were also conducted on the participants to evaluate their cardio metabolic health indicators and inflammation. DATA ANALYSIS, STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES • In the data analysis, Pearson’s correlation coefficient and adjusted linear regression were used to analyse how physical exercise and cardiovascular health, and HIV biomarkers are related when dealing with PLWH. • Strengths entailed; the use of technology, such as AntiGraphs, led to capturing accurate data since it minimized the risk of behaviour change bias. • Weaknesses were; the study could not determine any accidents or casualty. • Since it was also a single-site study; though it was used to establish the relationship between physical activities and cardiovascular health, it is not suitable to use its findings to make clinical changes. • The participants used were older adults living with HIV meaning low levels of physical activities were recorded.
