Bio-Psycho-Social Assessment

Assessing a client’s biological, psychological, and social history is a holistic approach that is an essential aspect of social work practice. Since one area often affects the other two, it is important to get as accurate an assessment as possible when working with a client. Social workers use the bio-psycho-social tool to communicate specific information, and possible conclusions, about a client to other professionals. It is, at once, a summary of current issues and problems; a listing of past factors that may be relevant to the current situation; and a description of potential issues that may have an effect on the client in the future. In addition to describing the client’s challenges and problems, the assessment identifies strengths and assets that are available to provide support. For this Assignment you create a bio-psycho-social assessment.Bio-Psyco-Social Assessment, social science homework help

  • Describe the issues will you need to address around cultural competence.

NOTE FROM INSTRUCTOR:

Great video post for part A of your final assignment. You are very clear in your application of HBSE to the client, but please make sure you clearly identify a specific theory (e.g. Generalist intervention Model, Ecological Model, Family Systems Theory, ect..) to help in the organization and writing of your final assignment.

Great discussion video. I think this is important as part of your assessment that Dalia’s family should be involved (at some point) in the helping process. In terms of assessment, there should be a point of inquiry into the cultural issues as we see that Daila’s father has different opinion about Dalia’s attitude than her mother. What strategies would you use to decide on what interventions would be appropriate in her case? How would you involve her family in this (besides what you’ve mentioned)?
